The playground was a take off from Night at the Museum this afternoon. We enjoyed some sunshine following our dress rehearsal, then paraded indoors for the kindergarten and first grades who won't see the shows tomorrow. Remember museum show times Wednesday, April 1, 8:00 and 9:10!

Use this link to see the calendar for the history museum. https://docs.google.com/a/gapps.verona.k12.wi.us/document/d/1SbqZXG3z4Y4fdkRaF8_684lYckRVhhhx61Z8IOxK62A/edit?usp=sharing Today we celebrated March birthdays and the fact that we have ALL history museum scripts printed. We had 10 extra minutes of recess.
Wick showed us the app for posting directly to the PALs webpage. We will now be able to help with communication about what's happening in the classroom. The app is called Weebly.
We gathered in group space to talk about kids sharing responsibility for communicating about what is happening at school. Watch for upcoming blog entries about poetry, greatness slides, greatness essays, and the history museum.
Friday, February 20th, 4/5 PALs performed a poetry slam for 2/3 students in the steproom. This was arranged by Mrs. Wilson as part of library instruction. Some students read their own work. Others selected poems for two voices or other poems from the reading they've been doing in class.
On Thursday, sixth grade music teachers came to Stoner Prairie to help fives make choices for their music preference for next year.
Kids have been active in our school-wide kindness challenge including a chance to help our custodian, Mr. Brown, hang the paper chain in the multipurpose room. Students are writing slips on which they indicate acts of kindness that they did, received or saw. Based on student recommendation, this activity will continue.
Students have spent time using the website MobyMax to support classroom learning. We occasionally assign students to work on Moby at home. All students have an account and we are able to monitor progress including the amount of time each student devotes to Moby. This is just one tool for assessment and instruction. Feel free to encourage your child to work on Moby Math, Reading (Literature or Informational) and Vocabulary, which we monitor regularly.
