We offer a multiage program at Stoner Prairie in order to:

- focus on long term growth to assure consistency in student learning by providing a continuous program for several years rather than 9 month blocks.
- provide the opportunity for parents, teachers and students to build long term relationships.
- recognize difference as a positive aspect of the learning environment.
- provide flexibility in programming to reflect the way children develop and learn.
Long term relationships allow us to:
- create an environment in which students are accepted and supported by each other in a community of learners.
- enhance children's feelings of comfort, security and self-esteem.
- strengthen children's learning through meaningful activities designed to meet individualized needs.
- encourage cooperation. There is a growing recognition, at all academic levels, that cooperation is much more effective than competition in improving academic achievement.
